Homemade Gifts - A Recession Buster!
Any ideas for homemade gifting you'd like to share?
Could be a help coming up to Christmas!
I'll start:
Last year I made some christmas shortbread for hubby's Nana. wrapped it in some cellophane and added a nice handwritten card to the package.

Great idea.
Last year i made a relative a hamper. Got lots of lovely bits from Marks and Spencers and because i thoughtof it early enough i got things that were on offer and branded products from home bargains. Purchased a large xmas gift box and laid the box out with the goodies and tinsel. It turned out quite well and i didn't spend as much as perhaps i would of done on another present, I was pleased and hopefully they were too!

I'm going to experiment with felting if I can find something to do it with and make some bags / a bag! I've seen some lovely ones.
I'm thinking of doing something arty with my son who is 7 months - maybe some hand / foot prints or something, they should go down well with relatives.
Love the hamper idea
It's something that I could start making now... just got to decide who it'll be for!
Great thread

No i think it's a lovely idea. Tbh if there is any year you can get away with doing that kind of thing it would probably be this given all your personal circumstances (job/baby etc) and at least you've thought about them!

I think it's a lovely idea. I was going to do hampers last year with homemade jam, xmas pudding flavoured vodka amongst other things but I just didn't have the time and aftr buying ingredients and containers etc. it would have cost as much as prezzies.
