Lightbulb Join Me In The £100 Challenge!

The 2010 savers starts page 9!

Do you need to save money for something? Starting to think about xmas?

With xmas looming i've decided to challenge myself and see if i can make an extra £150 from September - December. I will update this thread as a kind of diary telling the world how i saved money buy doing things i perhaps wouldn't normally such as picking up a store magazine and getting the coupons out, how i devoted an extra half an hour of my day to doing online surveys or maybe i've just had a sort through my ever growing pile of "i need to put that on ebay at some point" items. I will raise the money!

Anyone want to join me in the challenge? You can set your own targets, all i ask is that you keep us up to date with your money making ideas and only post legit schemes.

I think I'll join you for some spare xmas pennies ...foods & drink is always £££ alone

    So my target is £200

I will have a look for new and free offers available on cashback sites

2 more ways to add to my c hallenge.

Using Tesco points to buy presents - At the moment you can swap £5 for £10 online
    http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/...0%26%20toddler
^ So I will do that and it will save me £20 as I got £10 worth

Sainsburys Nectar points for Christmas food shopping!

Well i figured everyone will have their own way of doing it.

I've been thinking about how i am going to approach the task myself.

At the end of each week i am going to gather my grocery till receipts together and tally up any vouchers I have redeemed. I don't think i'll add on any savings made by multi buy offers as I would probably have made that purchase anyway.

I am going to make sure i use a cashback site www.greasypalm.co.uk especially for ebay purchases.

I am going to make an effort to earn points doing surveys but i am going to focus on one particular site http://uk.toluna.com/Default.aspx. I will use sites i am registered with but will make Toluna my priority site rather than all these scattered funds.

I am going to make an extra effort to visit the boots advantage card atm and make sure i get all bonus points due to me.

If i get a freebie i could put a value on i will add that to my funds. For instance, I applied for a dove shower gel a few weeks ago and it later arrived. It's a 50ml bottle and these roughly retail at 20p in Home Bargains so i will add the 20p to my tally.

If i manage to find something that would suit as a gift for less than my £15 per person gift budget i will add the left over money to my tally. For instance i recently purchased a gift bag from the body shop for £7.50 in their sale (RRP £35) that will suit a friend perfectly. I'll probably buy her some chocolates aswell but i imagine i'd be well within budget of approx £2.50 - £5.

I shall be keeping a tally of my funds on here and on paper at home. Here's hoping i make my target! Good luck MS :hugs:

Its because Ive already been doing it really! I spent loads of my BOOTS points other week they've been on my card over a year adding up *gulp* online promos I 'always' go for. May as well since I'd buy them anyway and they get delivered free! Nappies shampoos etc etc
