Oh I like this, have been doing this my way for a wee while I've got £60 saved on Asda xmas card, £5 tesco coupons, and have pledged £38 of my child benefit a month until december which will give me £152....I want to have £144 on my asda card by december, they then top it up to £150. I done this last year and it was a huge help

Also I'm saving £20 a week from week after next until 2nd week of December so I should have £250 or maybe more if I'm clever. I've got only £15 on my boots so it'll do a 3 for 2.

So realistically I should have £150 for extra food and £400 for hard shopping come december

    Ooh can I join?

I opened a savings account the other day and put £200 of my final wage before my maternity pay kicks in to cover presents and I've bought all of my baby's presents/6month development toys etc. in summer sales.

I now need to start saving for the Christmas food shop and general spends so ideally want to put away about £150 for Christmas dinner, snacks, drinks, decorations etc. because we will have relatives visiting 3 times so will need to cover food for them each time. Because we don't have a car I also need to cover bus fares or delivery charges from supermarkets etc. so I think £150 is a good number.

I've been using some opinion poll sites for about a month and have money scattered all over which I hope to cash in at Christmas and I'm also going to start trying to cut down the weekly shop. I budget £200 a month for the shopping so anything left from this at the end of the month will go in my savings account. I'm also going to start using a cashback site for online shopping.

    I saved £9 today

may sound silly how £5 of it came about, but bear with me...

I was in Iceland, stocking up the freezer. I had Burgers, Sausages and Chicken Pieces on my list. So, I'm walking along and notice the "BBQ" packs down to 1/2 price (still plenty of date left on em) so I buy two, which is effectively BOGOF. I decided to put the £5 into my jar because it wasn't an offer I had pre-planned to take advantage of.... Does that make sense?! lol

£4 was use of vouchers in Tesco.

    Every little helps!

I must confess my funds are going slower than i anticipated but then again i haven't had a lot of time recently either so swings and roundabouts really. Managed to list a few more things on ebay last night so we'll see how it goes *sigh*
