Have you been on Holiday this year?
Are you going anywhere this year?
If so where and when and what was it like. I think this would be a good thread for people to see what places are like to go on holiday too
I'll start.
15th May - 22nd May - Primrose Valley, Haven Campsite near Scarborough
Accomodation:
We stayed in a Platinum Caravan (2nd from top) Was very clean when we arrived. It seemed quite small to the one that we had had the previous year but it was still bigger than most caravans. It has central heating so if it's cold you can just whack the heating on and it will heat the whole caravan!
Site:
The site was very clean with LOADS to do. There is 2 swimming pools (which are free!) an amusement arcade, lots of activities for kids to do during the day at the clubs, really good night entertainment from kids entertainment to bingo, bike hire to use round the site, a boating lake, a funfair with slides and rides. The cleaniness of the park is really good too! There is also access to the beach straight from the site, and also there are regular buses that go through the site to Bridlington and Scarborough.
Food:
There is a Papa Johns pizza place (which delivers to the caravan!) a Burger King, a Fish Shop and a pub which serves nice food. The pub also has a 2 for £8 menu too which is really good for the credit crunch. There is a shop on site but it is quite expensive so try and get your things from the local supermarkets.
Supermarkets:
There is a little local shop on site but it is expensive. There is a Tesco in nearby Scarborough, there is also a Sainsbury's Local in Scarborough and Bridlington. There is a Morrisons nearby in a place called Eastfield.
What to do?:
There is all sorts to do in the nearby area of the campsite. There is Scarborough and Bridlington Beaches, there is the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough, there is Bridlington and Scarborough Town Centre's for shopping. There is a Farm nearby called Playdale Farm which is a brilliant day out. If you want to go a bit further a field there is also Flamingoland which is about 20 miles away which is a really good theme park. Loads of rides for the little ones and a zoo and farm
Overall:
Overall we think that Primrose Valley is a lovely place to stay because of the entertainment and the many different things to do. We found 5 days wasn't enough so 7 days is an ideal amount of days to take for this holiday. Our overall score of for this holiday is - 8/10
PS If anyone is interested in booking a holiday with Haven when you book mention that you have your Car Insurance with green Flag but say you have lost their offers sheet and you can get up to 30% off I think![]()
