Tesco never get it right!

Ah, it's a long - but amusing - tale.

Not so long ago Tesco had a policy whereby if they charged you more than the price displayed you got a full refund and kept the product in question.

No doubt the powers that be at Tesco thought this up with little more forethought than having to give the odd can of baked beans or loaf of bread away due to someone not changing the price tags.

Step forward a disparate band of renegades who decided to check all the prices of every product on sale in Tesco. Shockingly they found hundreds of items mislabelled, with customers being over charged and Tesco getting away with it.

Over a six month period I personally walked out with over £2000 of free products due to this pricing guarantee, the pick of the bunch were 3 Xbox 360's, 5 Mobile Phones, a Bread-maker, Probably two dozen books, probably up to a dozen crates of beer and cider, 8 bottles of red WKD, Champagne, Xbox 360 games, a couple of DAB radios and in one three day frenzy 8 copies of the DVD Cartoon "Open Season"

Sadly, I got greedy, going from one Tesco to the next and stocking up, arguing at Customer Services and pointing to their own price promise written on the wall. I received a letter from Tesco Head Office telling me that "because I had been availing myself of their generous price guarantee I would no longer be welcome in any of their stores within the UK."

I heard rumour that one lucky soul spotted the wrong price tag on a 46" Plasma TV and promptly got it for nothing (After plenty of argument at Customer Services and the Manager of the store offering him £200 to just disappear and leave the TV)

I now shop in ASDA and Sainsbury's
