Our weather, here in Canada, is very messed up :S We had about 5 cm of snow last night, and then it rained it all away
It was so pretty too! I hope we have some snow for Christmas!

gritting?? is that sanding, or salting? I'm sorry, I am not familiar with that term
Our roads are salted in Nova Scotia! We had some more flurries this morning, it was pretty out, however it is freezing!

Yes. it's sort of a mixture of rock salt and sand, although it wasn't cold here so I've no idea why they were doing it.

I hate winter where I live its VERY heavy winds and I fight with myself a lot if I have to go out in it  I like rain if the house is nice and cosy as long as heavy winds don't come with it too.

i know snow is predicted towards the end of next week, tho tbh we never get much here really. It's sooo cold aswell now -2 here last night! I don't mind the cold soo much it's rain i can't stand. Apparently we're going to have the hottest summer on record in 2010 aswell.
